Dues are again $20 however if you were an “active club participant” in 2012 you can pay as little as $5.To qualify as an active participant, you must have entered at least 1 beer in the 2012 UMMO, MN State Fair or AHA National Homebrew Competition as SPHBC. Then for each competition volunteered/judged or each three meetings attended you get $5 credit for up to $15 total.If you didn’t meet the requirements, just pay $20. November 8th SPHBC meeting
This month’s meeting will be held at Pour Decisions Brewing Co.1744 Terrace Dr, Roseville, MN 55113-1315Please BYOB to drink/share, commercial or homebrew ok. If you want feedback on your home brew, please bring your brewing notes and recipe when possible.Main Event:Doctored/Flawed Beer tasting. Oct 2nd Club Meeting at The Muddy Pig
Our October SPHBC meeting is Tuesday October 2nd at The Muddy Pig. 7-9:30pm.We’ll have a couple blind tastings, discuss altbier and saisons and have plenty of time to share homebrew.
September 4th club meeting
The September meeting will be Tuesday September 4th at The Happy Gnome, 7pm upstairs. Bring homebrew to share, recipe/brew session notes for feedback and a glass to sample with.The next Club-only Competition entries are due Oct 6th, we will pick a winning entry at the October meeting. June 5th club meeting at The Muddy Pig
Next SPHBC meeting will be Tuesday June 5th, 7pm at The Muddy Pig. We have once again reserved the back room.Topics:Jake from Better Beer Society will briefly discuss the mission of BBS and their upcoming Brown Bag Blind Tasting event coming up June 30th.Member Del Stein will be talking about his system and brewing process.Club sponsored 2nd round NHC shipping CoC for August is Porter (entries due on or after the July meeting)Also, this Sunday SPHBC will NOT be brewing at Grand Old Day, however Northern Brewer will be doing their own brew demo’s over the course of the day.
October Club Meeting
The October SPHBC meeting will be held Tuesday October 4th 7pm upstairs at the Happy Gnome! [NOTE: This date was corrected, previously was listed as 10/6]
If you want to bring a beer for consideration as an entry to the Specialty/Experimental/Historical Beers competition please do so.
If you want comments on your brews: Bring at least 2 12 ounce bottles to make it around the room, they should be labeled with Your Name, and Style (without labels it is chaos). Also, bring your recipe & brewing notes because you will be questioned about your ingredients and brewing process. You cannot expect recommendations for improvements on a beer if you don’t remember what’s in it!
No May meeting… instead a trip to Dave’s BrewFarm April 30th.
Club, there is no official May meeting. Instead on Saturday April 30th, we will be visiting Dave’s BrewFarm in Wilson, WI. There is a group bus going, please contact us for information on how to join the trip. You can also decide to meet us there.

December Club Meeting
Our monthly club meeting will be as usual at the Happy Gnome on Tuesday December 7th at about 7:00pm. NOTE THE MEETING LOCATION HAS CHANGED TO STEVE FLETTY’S HOUSE in Falcon Heights / St. Paul. There is no specific topic this month; bring your beers for sharing and feedback and bring questions. Halvo may be going over brewing software. Eric will tell you why you should help out with sorting UMMO entries, subliminal suggestion may be used, or the promise of free beer will entice you to volunteer.
